Mathematical models of arc welding

In 2003-2006 years in the publishing house of the Southern-Ural State University (SUSU, Russia, Chelyabinsk) there were from printing the four-volume monograph:

Berezovsky B.M. The mathematical models of arc welding. In three volumes.     Content of the first, second and third volumes
Russia, Chelyabinsk: SUSU Publishing, 2002-2006.

Volume 1. Mathematical modelling and information technologies, models of a weld pool and weld formation. — Chelyabinsk: SUSU Publishing, 2002. — 585 p.

Illustrations — 203, Tables — 25, References — 937.             ISBN 5-696-02217-0

In the monograph on the basis of an extensive theoretical and experimental materials the problems of application of modern information technologies in welding production, science and engineering, and also basic principles and features of mathematical modelling of welding processes are surveyed. The classification of models is given, on the basis of which the main methods of mathematical modelling of weld formation and optimization of this process with allowance for effects of surface tension phenomena on geometrical parameters, form and quality of welds for the practically important technological schemes are exhibited at arc welding in different positions.
This monograph is intended for the science researches and engineers-technologists occupied with problems of mathematical modelling and optimising of the technological of processes of arc welding.
The first monograph's volume has came out from printing in May 19, 2003.

Volume 2. Mathematical modeling and optimization of different types of welds formation. —  Chelyabinsk: SUSU Publishing, 2003. — 601 p.

Illustrations — 353, Tables — 11, References — 711.             ISBN 5-696-02235-9

In the monography on the basis of philosophy of mathematical modelling and the optimizations of welding processes explained in ς.1, are surveyed important for practical applications the technological schemes of welds formation at arc welding: execution fillet and galtel welds, welding of thin metal with burning through, orbital welding of tubes, execution of multipass seams at welding of thick metal. The methods of simulation and calculation of main specifications of penetration of welded metal are explained. The methods and paths of optimization of choice of principal dimensions of welds and technological parameters of welding coditions are offered.

The second monograph's volume has came out from printing in August 29, 2003.

Volume 3. Arc pressure, the defects of the welds, electrode metal transfer. — Chelyabinsk: SUSU Publishing, 2003. —  485 p.

Illustrations — 295, Tables — 11, References — 480.             ISBN 5-696-02296-0

In this volume of the monograph the appearances and processes happening in a weld pool and weld formation surveyed. The main outcomes of experimental and analytical investigation of power effect of an arc on welded metal are explained. Such defects of weld formation, as undercuts, gas and slag concavities, unmeltings, nonuniformity of weld fprmation considered. The data about main technology factors influential in appearance of these defects, and methods of their elimination represented. The main peculiarites and methods of simulation of electrode metal transfer, ways of of this process control and lowerings surveyed.
The monograph is intended for the scientists and engineers-technologists occupied with problems of mathematical modelling and optimization of the welding processes technologies.

The third monograph's volume has came out from printing in June 30, 2004.
The fourth monograph's volume has came out from printing in August 27, 2006.
Volume 4. Fundamentals of heat transfer in the workpieces. — Chelyabinsk: SUSU Publishing, 2006. —  547 p. Illustrations — 122, Tables — 2, References — 512.
ISBN 5-94218-070-9
